Warsaw, 16.06.2026: Ocean Winds has chosen Przembud Gda\u0144sk S.A. as a general contractor for the construction of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base in W\u0142adys\u0142awowo serving the BC-Wind offshore wind farm. The project marks another important step in the company\u2019s local content strategy in Poland and will contribute to the development of regional offshore wind competencies, infrastructure and long-term employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The O&M base will support the long-term operations and servicing of the BC-Wind offshore wind farm and become a key operational hub for the project during its operational phase. The selection of a Polish contractor reflects Ocean Winds\u2019 broader commitment to engaging local companies and strengthening the domestic offshore wind supply chain across all stages of the BC-Wind project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kacper Kostrzewa, Managing Director for Poland at Ocean Winds, said: \u201cThe BC-Wind O&M base is another tangible example of how we approach local content in Poland. From the very beginning, our ambition has been not only to develop an offshore wind farm, but also to help build long-term industrial and operational capabilities around the sector. We see strong potential in Polish companies and want local businesses to participate in the development, construction and long-term servicing of offshore wind projects in Poland<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Konrad Murzy\u0144ski, President of the Management Board of Przembud Gda\u0144sk S.A., said: \u201cWe are proud to contribute to the BC-Wind project and to support the development of offshore wind infrastructure in Poland. This investment represents an important step in strengthening local competencies and building long-term operational capabilities in the sector. We are committed to delivering the project to the highest standards of quality and safety.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located approximately 37 km offshore from the BC-Wind site, the O&M base will serve as the primary logistics and service hub for the wind farm. Transit time between the port and the offshore wind farm is expected to be approximately 70 minutes by CTV. The O&M base received its building permit in January 2026. Construction works are scheduled to commence in June 2026 and continue until the end of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The O&M base is expected to create approximately 30 jobs during the operational phase of the project, while also generating long-term opportunities for local companies supporting building maintenance, logistics and technical services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BC-Wind offshore wind farm is Ocean Winds\u2019 first project in the Baltic Sea. Located approximately 23 km from the Polish coastline, the project will feature 26 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines with a planned total capacity of up to 390 MW, capable of supplying renewable electricity to nearly half a million households annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is also a strong example of Ocean Winds\u2019 commitment to developing the local supply chain and maximizing local content in Poland. The construction of BC-Wind involves numerous Polish companies across different stages of the project. The offshore substation is being manufactured at a shipyard in Gdynia, while the onshore substation, together with the onshore grid connection infrastructure and cable production, has been fully entrusted to Polish companies. In addition, the project will utilize both Polish installation ports during the installation phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its contribution to the development of the Polish offshore wind sector and local supply chain, Ocean Winds has received multiple industry awards this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
