Ocean Winds symbolically inaugurated the construction of its Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base in W\u0142adys\u0142awowo through the signing of a foundation deed and the laying of a foundation stone. The facility will serve as the main operational, logistics and maintenance hub for the BC-Wind offshore wind farm for decades to come. The event was attended by representatives of Ocean Winds, as well as invited guests representing local and regional authorities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ocean Winds has commenced the construction of an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) base in W\u0142adys\u0142awowo, which will support the operation of the BC-Wind offshore wind farm for approximately 30 years. The ceremonial inauguration took place on 23 September 2026 at the project site. Attendees included representatives of Ocean Winds and regional and local authorities, including Emil Rojek \u2013 Deputy Voivode of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, Jaros\u0142aw Kumi\u0119ga from the Marshal’s Office of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, Tomasz Herrmann from the Puck County Office, as well as the Mayor of W\u0142adys\u0142awowo, Roman Ku\u017cel, and Deputy Mayor Kamil Pach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kacper Kostrzewa, Managing Director in Poland<\/strong>, Ocean Winds, said: \u201eThe construction of the Operations & Maintenance base in W\u0142adys\u0142awowo is an important element of the BC-Wind project and further strengthens Ocean Winds\u2019 long-term presence in Poland. W\u0142adys\u0142awowo is a location where, for decades to come, we will develop activities related to servicing the offshore wind farm, working closely with local businesses and building the capabilities needed for the offshore sector. We believe that this kind of investments can create lasting value for the region by supporting job creation, strengthening the local supply chain and fostering new specialisations linked to the maritime economy. This is an important part of the broader development of offshore wind energy in Poland and its role in the transformation of the country\u2019s energy sector.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the inauguration ceremony, the visualisation of the future base building, designed by Haskoning Polska, which supported Ocean Winds in the design and permitting process for the facility, was officially unveiled. The two-storey building, including a mezzanine level, will offer approximately 1,200 m\u00b2 of usable floor space. Located at the intersection of Portowa Street and W\u0142adys\u0142awa IV Street in W\u0142adys\u0142awowo, the facility will comprise office, welfare and warehouse areas. The base will include operational, dispatch, office and storage facilities supporting the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the BC-Wind offshore wind farm.\u2028\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n
