Ocean Winds awarded “Leader of Energy Transformation” during the Polish Climate Congress

Ocean Winds was recognized as “Leader of Energy Transformation” in the “Investment” category during the Polish Climate Congress. The jury praised, among other things, the market impact of the BC-Wind project, the consistent involvement of Polish companies in key areas of the investment, and the development of a domestic supply chain. This is the fourth industry award OW has received in March this year.

The “Energy Transformation Leaders” competition is organised by the European Sustainable Investment Foundation. The initiative aims to identify and promote projects that contribute to accelerating the energy transition and the development of a modern, low-emission economy in Poland. The jury consists of independent market experts from the fields of business, public administration, science, and social organisations, which ensures an objective and multidimensional evaluation of submissions. The competition accompanies the Polish Climate Congress, a three-day conference held annually in Warsaw.

The BC-Wind project was recognised for combining the development of zero-emission energy generation with the consistent involvement of Polish companies and the long-term development of a domestic supply chain. The jury also highlighted initiatives aimed at building skills and local talent through the educational programme “Career with Wind.” The programme, launched in 2021, is addressed to vocational school students. Its objective is to familiarise students with the offshore wind sector and the career opportunities it offers in this industry.

Kacper Kostrzewa, Managing Director of Ocean Winds in Poland

Offshore wind in Poland should be developed in a way that simultaneously accelerates the energy transition and strengthens the domestic industry. Within the BC-Wind project, thanks to the commitment of our Team, which engages in daily dialogue and builds relationships, we consistently involve Polish companies in key elements of the investment – from onshore infrastructure to offshore scope. An equally important component of the project is skills development. Through the ‘Career with Wind’ initiative, we are preparing young people for careers in the offshore wind sector, building a foundation for the industry’s future workforce. The programme has already engaged more than 900 students.

Ocean Winds received three additional industry awards earlier in March this year.

Ocean Winds also received the “Market Impact Award” in the IJGlobal Awards for the financing of the BC-Wind project. This is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the global infrastructure finance sector, awarded to transactions that set new market standards. It was one of the largest deals of its kind in the renewable energy sector.

A few days later, the jury of the “Transformation Power” competition, organised by “Puls Biznesu”, recognised Ocean Winds’ efforts to support skills development in the renewable energy sector. The jury highlighted the “Career with Wind” educational programme, which has been developing knowledge and skills among young people in offshore wind energy for five years and supporting the development of the local labour market.

The company’s activity in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland was also recognised at the PowerConnect Energy Summit 2026. Ocean Winds was awarded the “PowerConnect Award 2026” in the “Leader of Transformation” category. The jury emphasised the contribution of the BC-Wind project to the development of offshore wind energy in Poland, including the building of a domestic supply chain, skills development, and support for the energy transition.
