Another successful year of the “Career with the Wind” educational programme, delivered by Ocean Winds in cooperation with the Industrial Development Academy (Przemysłowa Akademia Rozwoju), has come to an end. Throughout the 2025/2026 school year, we worked with students from technical secondary schools, introducing them to the world of offshore wind energy and demonstrating the rapid growth of the sector and the exciting career opportunities it offers to young people.
Our goal is not only to increase awareness of renewable energy but, above all, to inspire students to make informed decisions about their future and develop the skills and competencies that will be in high demand in the years to come.
The Programme in Numbers
During the 2025/2026 school year, the “Career with the Wind” programme included:
- approximately 270 students participating in the programme,
- 5 partner schools from different regions of Poland,
- nearly 100 workshops and educational sessions,
- around 50 quizzes and knowledge competitions,
- 2 study visits, giving students the opportunity to experience the offshore wind industry firsthand.
The programme was delivered in the following schools:
- Kazimierz Pułaski Mechanical and Electrical Schools Complex in Częstochowa,
- Energy Schools Complex in Gdańsk,
- Stanisław Staszic District Schools Complex in Kłanino,
- District Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education in Puck,
- Władysław Orkan Secondary School No. 2 in Szczecin.
Education Tailored to Local Needs
Although every school participating in the “Career with the Wind” programme shared the same objective—preparing young people for careers in the modern energy sector—the activities were tailored to the profile of each class and the specific needs of the students.
In Częstochowa, workshops combined offshore wind energy topics with soft skills development and practical guidance on career opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
For students in Gdańsk, one of the programme highlights was a study visit to Baltic Towers, where they gained valuable insight into the manufacturing and operational facilities supporting Poland’s growing offshore wind industry.
In Kłanino, students systematically expanded their knowledge of wind energy through workshops, quizzes, and activities designed to strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. In Puck, the programme focused on practical aspects of offshore wind technologies, workplace safety, and career development opportunities within the industry.
Students in Szczecin visited the GWO Wulkan training centre, where they explored the state-of-the-art facilities used to train specialists working on offshore wind farms. In spring, we also concluded the programme for this class, celebrating the knowledge and experience gained throughout the project.

Building the Workforce for the Energy Transition
For the past five years, the “Career with the Wind” programme has demonstrated that effective education is built on a combination of knowledge, practical experience, and close cooperation with industry. Thanks to the commitment of schools, teachers, experts, and programme partners, we are helping young people discover the opportunities offered by the rapidly growing offshore wind sector while supporting them in making informed educational and career choices.
We would like to thank all the students, teachers, school management teams, our programme partner, and the companies that welcomed students during study visits, opening the doors to the world of modern energy and generously sharing their knowledge and expertise.
See you in the next school year!
