Location

BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm

BC-Wind is an offshore wind farm with a capacity of up to 390 MW and a total area of 90.94 km². The wind farm will be located approximately 23 km offshore from the municipalities of Krokowa and Choczewo, within the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea.

The offshore part of the project will consist of 26 wind turbines, an offshore substation, and an export subsea cable transmitting electricity ashore to the municipality of Choczewo.

At full operational capacity, the wind farm will be able to supply renewable electricity to approximately 500,000 households annually.

Project Area

The exact location of the wind farm, including its geographical coordinates, is presented in the table below.

The area affected by the project infrastructure will include the fishing squares O6, O7, O8, and P8.

Map of BC-Wind in relation to other existing and planned offshore wind farms

A dedicated navigation corridor has been planned between the BC-Wind project area and neighbouring offshore wind farm sites to enable fishermen to travel safely between fishing grounds.

The corridor has been designed taking into account existing and planned offshore infrastructure in order to maintain efficient access to fishing areas and minimise the risk of interactions with offshore wind farm infrastructure.

Marine Operations

Offshore activities require careful planning and coordination of numerous operations, vessels, and teams involved in the delivery of the BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm project. To support fishermen and other sea users, this section provides key information on ongoing and planned offshore operations.

Information on Marine Operations

The information published covers planned and ongoing activities related to the construction of the BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm and its associated transmission infrastructure. Depending on the project phase, this may include preparatory works, surveys and investigations, transportation and installation of wind farm components, cable laying operations, and other offshore activities.

Scope of Available Information

  • Weekly updates on planned offshore operations.
  • Information on vessels engaged in project activities.
  • Locations of active work areas.
  • Information on safety zones and navigational restrictions.
  • Notices concerning cable-laying activities, installation works, and turbine assembly.
  • Information relevant to the safety and operations of all sea users.

The published materials are provided for information purposes only and do not replace official navigational warnings, notices, or announcements issued by the relevant maritime authorities and hydrographic services. All sea users should regularly monitor official notices and comply with any applicable restrictions and safety requirements.

Meetings

Direct dialogue with sea users is an important element of the BC-Wind project. Meetings provide an opportunity to share information on project progress, discuss planned activities, and gather questions, comments, and feedback related to the development.

As part of the BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm project, meetings are organized with fishermen, representatives of local communities, and other sea users. The topics discussed are linked to upcoming project phases, planned offshore activities, and issues relevant to stakeholders and their ongoing operations.

During these meetings, information is provided on topics such as the project implementation schedule, planned marine operations, the location of offshore works, and mitigation measures adopted to reduce potential impacts on sea users’ activities. The meetings are open and accessible to all interested stakeholders.

The meetings also provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions, share comments, and raise issues requiring further clarification. Information and feedback collected during these meetings are taken into consideration as part of the ongoing stakeholder engagement and project communication process.

Upcoming Meetings

On 29 and 30 September 2026, meetings were held with representatives of the fishing community in Łeba and Władysławowo, during which the principles and operation of the compensation scheme were presented and discussed.

The next meeting is planned to take place soon. Further details, including the date, location, and agenda, will be published once confirmed.

Contact and Submitting Questions

Questions, comments, and feedback regarding the project can also be submitted through dedicated contact mailboxes and other available communication channels.

Information on the current contact options can be found in the Contact section.

Livelihood Restoration Plan

As part of the preparation and implementation of the BC-Wind Offshore Wind Farm project, we have identified the potential impact of the development on the livelihoods and economic conditions of individuals and groups whose activities may be connected to the project area. In response to these considerations, a Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) has been developed.

The Plan sets out the principles for identifying and assessing potential economic losses, as well as measures aimed at minimizing such impacts and, where justified, providing compensation. The document also outlines the support mechanisms envisaged under the project and describes how these measures will be implemented and monitored throughout the project execution phase.
